Three Types of Writing
Students should be able to complete these targets in complete sentences.
Asking and answering questions using text evidence.
Character traits- physical, emotional, and the motivations behind them.
Main Idea/Theme and Key Details
Students should be able to comprehend fiction and nonfiction text.
Students should be reading 123 words per minute by the end of the third grade.
Students should be practicing comprehension with each book that they read.
Please ask your child to summarize what they read, after they complete a book.
Different Types of Instruction: Inquiry, problem solving, and direct instruction.
Multiplication strategies- grouping, arrays, skip counting, repeated addition
By the end of Third grade we want students to fluently know their multiplications facts.
